Which should I choose – Charcoal or Gas?

Choose gas for convenience. Gas barbecues are popular because they “heat up” quickly.

What is the difference between Lava Rocks and Flavourisers?

Gas barbecues either use LAVA ROCKS or FLAVOURISERS to produce a “barbecued” flavour. Lava Rocks often suffer from flare ups when fat drips onto the rocks and catches fire causing the food to burn. Flavourisers protect the burners ensuring there are no flare-ups. There is no difference in taste of the food from either method, other than the food from lava rock barbecues tends to taste more burnt.
